Jessica Brown
Communications Lead with Panoply Digital
Jessica’s experience sits at the intersection of ICT and energy, and she is a former investment representative for Shell Foundation on USAID’s Power Africa pitching initiative supporting rural, women-led mini-grid and energy-related businesses in securing follow-on funding and investment.
Her training focused on refining pitch decks to appeal to investors in the Global North, guiding entrepreneurs in crafting compelling narratives to present their businesses in an engaging and memorable way. Jessica also provided training on key financial metrics, including revenue projections, profit margins, ROI, local manufacturing costs, and import/export expenses. She emphasized the importance of clear grant funding reporting and successful fundraising strategies.
Her approach included coaching on how to demonstrate market understanding, analyze future growth opportunities, and expand into neighboring geographies. Additionally, she built the confidence of female-led SMEs by conducting pitch dry runs and addressing concerns that could hinder their ability to present assertively.
Jessica has cultivated a robust network of energy and ICT specialists from both the public and private sectors and is actively creating dialogue to drive impact in these industries as a podcast host.
