Michael specialises in mobile learning, education, and ICT. He has extensive experience with course design, MOOCs, open learning development, ICT4D/M4D projects, and qualitative research methods. He was the education and outreach manager for ITHAKA, a large non-profit organisation, and has many years of teaching experience in higher education and other sectors. He publishes often, including a recent book on mobile learning for humanities instruction, and research on blockchain, AI, VR, and mobile design. He has years of experience with multinational teams and has worked across Africa, Asia, Europe, and throughout North America. He has a PhD in Education focusing on mobile learning in East Asia and is a member of the Centre for Research in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh.
